How does the entire Solarbank 2 E1600 Pro system work?

The Solarbank 2 E1600 Pro solar storage system provides power based on your settings or intelligently determined electricity consumption. The system can store excess photovoltaic power in the battery or supply the household with electricity via photovoltaic modules during periods of low or no sunlight, in conjunction with the battery. When the generated photovoltaic power covers the household's electricity needs and battery charging requirements, the surplus electricity can be fed into the grid for full use.
You can access the mode selection via the energy plans quick portal on the homepage.
Self-consumption mode: In this mode, no setup is required. The smart meter records the electricity demand of the household and sends it to the solar bank, which then dynamically adjusts the output power to the household's electricity consumption and stores the excess photovoltaic power in the battery. This mode is only available if the smart meter is added to the system.
User-defined mode: In this mode, you must manually set a power consumption schedule that allows the solar bank to supply your household with the estimated rated power at different times within 24 hours and to store the excess power in the battery.
You can set different electricity consumption schedules for each day of the week to meet the household's electricity needs more flexibly.

Install the expansion battery according to the instructions, first disconnecting and turning off the Solarbank from the solar panel, inserting the battery, and then reconnecting the solar panel.

Can the Solarbank E1600 work with the Solarbank 2 E1600 Pro/Plus?

Yes, they can be used together from the fourth quarter of 2024. The first-generation E1600 solar bank can serve as an expansion battery for the E1600 Pro/Plus solar bank and supports integration into the household energy circuit as well as smart metering.

No, the Solarbank E1600 does not support this function. To increase capacity, two Solarbank E1600 units can be connected to the same MI80 microinverter.

No, the Solarbank 2 E1600 Pro does not support connecting batteries via cable. Its capacity can only be expanded by stacking batteries. More precisely, the capacity can be increased to 9600 Wh by adding up to 5 batteries.

What are the main specifications of the Solarbank 2 E1600 Pro?

The Solarbank 2 E1600 Plus has an operating voltage of 16–60 V DC, a nominal photovoltaic input power of 1200 W, a 2-channel MPPT, and a single PV connection; it does not support series connection of photovoltaic modules. The input voltage must not exceed 60 V, the maximum grid-tied power is 800 W, off-grid power is not supported, and the capacity can be expanded to 9600 Wh by adding up to 5 batteries. The solarbank has two PV connections. The operating temperature is -20 °C to 55 °C, the maximum charging power is 2000 W (with one additional battery), the maximum discharging power is 1000 W, and the minimum adjustable power accuracy is 10 W.

No, unfortunately the Solarbank 2 E1600 Pro does not support external inverters.
