Can my microinverters also work without Hoymiles DTU-Pro-S?
DTU stands for Data Transfer Unit and is a data acquisition and transmission medium. Micro inverter can without DTU work, but they cannot obtain module-level power generation data from PV arrays or perform online diagnostics and maintenance of the array. In other words, you won't be able to use the module-level functionality for that Micro inverter were primarily designed to fully utilize.

Yes. Our Hoymiles DTU-Pro-S WiFi Version & 4G Version have different models for different communication modes like WiFi, Ethernet and 4G.
You can the 4G version choose if you have limited internet access. You can also use the system on the S Miles Cloud-Check the platform just like you would on a mobile phone 4G-Insert card.
How does the Hoymiles DTU-Pro-S communicate with the microinverters and the monitoring platform?
Our DTU collects data from Microinverters using two communication methods: 2,4G and Sub-1G. DTUs are over WiFi, Ethernet and 4G connected to the Internet.
Is the communication signal of the Hoymiles DTU-Pro-S stable?
Yes, DTU Hoymiles are known for their reliable communication. To ensure stable data transfer, just make sure your home has a stable internet connection.
What distance between Hoymiles DTU-Pro-S and microinverters?
In open terrain the maximum distance between the Hoymile's DTU and the PV array 150 m, however, in a real environment, obstacles (especially concrete and metal) can significantly affect the signal. In this case, we recommend using extended antennas to ensure this DTU-Signal is strong enough for data transmission.
Why is my Hoymiles DTU-Pro-S shown as offline?
If yours Hoymiles DTU-Pro-S not with the Hoymiles S-Miles Cloud connected, you can check three things.
1. First, make sure you have this WiFi-Password correct in yours DTU homiles have entered.
2. Next, check if your WiFi-Network works.
3. And finally, the signal strength may be too weak. In this case, contact the installer.
Why isn't my monitoring working?
If your system no longer reports data, it can S Miles Cloud Help you find the cause. After logging in, check whether your system is listed as “offline”.
If so, check if yours DTU is connected to the Internet (indicated by a flashing green LED). If the DTU seems to be online, but still no connection with the S Miles Cloud make sure you have entered the correct serial number.
