What is a SolarEdge power optimizer and what is it used for?
A SolarEdge power optimizer is a module optimization device that maximizes the performance of each individual solar module – even in the presence of partial shading, different roof slopes, or module tolerances.
How complex is the installation?
Installation is quick and easy with just one screw on the module frame. Intelligent cable management with three short and one long cables further simplifies handling.
Which modules are compatible with the SolarEdge power optimizer?
The optimizer supports solar modules with a power of up to 550 Wp and is particularly suitable for modern high-performance modules, including bifacial ones.
I use a Huawei inverter, should I use a SolarEdge power optimizer?

How does the optimizer contribute to the safety of the PV system?
Thanks to the patented SafeDC™ technology, the module voltage is automatically reduced to below 120 V when the inverter or mains power is switched off – in accordance with the VDE AR 2100-712 and OVE R11-1 standards.
When optimizing energy harvesting with the retrofit optimizer for Tigo ES and 2ES series or first generation smart modules (JES series), one maximizer must be used for all modules connected to the same inverter string. The system is so cost effective that you can get an excellent return on investment with the maximizer built into each module.
Can the optimizer be used for complex roof structures?
Yes, especially for rooftop systems with different roof orientations or shading, the optimizer ensures maximum energy yield from each individual module – regardless of its location.

How does impedance matching work on Tigo Optimizer?
Impedance matching is an optimization approach that places simple sensors and power controllers on modules. It is the slimmest of all module-based electronic solutions, as the maximum power point is calculated using a patented software algorithm. Optimal performance is achieved by regulating the current flow according to the correct "virtual" impedance of each module.
